Crash overnight outside our local School.

Not a lot going on today. I've been playing games most of the day and not been watching the news.

One thing has happened though. Seems a drunk driver drove into a school at some time during the night. The story I am told is that his passenger, a teenager, also drunk, was killed and the driver was seriously injured. Kind of a basic story really and one which thankfully is not too common but common enough so you can't spend too much time on it. This one however seems different. The school is just at the end of our street and by being in the front garden I can see it easily. All day different people of all ages have been laying flowers at the crash site and there is a little shrine. It makes it look like the pope or someone important has died. Either that or it's just the UK's obsession with making a big deal out of sudden accidental death.

Terrorists arrested with minimal fuss.

Just testing the EMail entry system. I've lost my internet connection
and can't use the web so now is a good time to test it out.

Was reading about the terrorists that were all arrested yesterday. Seems
that none of them got any lead injections. Kind of strange really. Was
not the Met's head man going on about how dangerous it was to try and
arrest these guys? Could it be that the summary executions are not going
to be the way to go? Let's wait and see. Anyway these terrorists should
also be done under the trades description act. They are not in any way
suicide bombers. You would expect them to fight to the end but that
doesn't seem to be the way for UK bred terrorists. Maybe life in the UK
means that the 72 virgins has not got the same appeal. Perhaps if we
changed it to 50 virgins plus an XBox or one of the snazzy new PSPs.

IRA give up their bad ways.

Just been sorting out some things before we go away on holiday in a few weeks. Fed Caitlin and then she slept in my arms like a baby. Which is kind of handy as that is what she is. Could this be some kind of prejudice by generalising? Anyway, better not go there or it'll be a crime soon to say things like 'Slept like a Baby.' While she was asleep I read a book about babies and it appears it ain't going to get more exciting for several months. I was looking forward to feeding her chocolate and teaching her bad habits but it's a long way away.

Finally sat down and was reading the news about the IRA on the web which made me laugh.

It seems the IRA are all ready to give up their bad ways and come on to the side of good and decent people. Ha! Finally.
It was all over for the IRA when the planes crashed into the twin towers. Bush made such a big deal about terrorists and hunting them that two things happened.
1) We got them added on to a list of Terrorist organisations.
2) Their funding and support dried up in the US.

I gave Bliar the credit for 1) but the time it has taken to get this far beggars belief and any decent leader would have had the whole lot raided and in our own Gizmo before you could say 'Prevention of Terrorism' years ago. Now he is letting out convicted terrorists as part of the deal. I can only assume is he wants it to happen peacefully in his tenure as PM. I can see the CV now. '2004-2005 Brokered deal with IRA after several failures of less gifted politicians'

Should be interesting when it gets to the time the IRA have to do something. Say like, well, give up their weapons. Or, could Bliar get away to leaving that minor detail to his successor.

Quiet day due to Computer issues.

Had a relaxing day today. Finally caught up with the postings. Mainly due to the works system crashing. It's due to my firms habit of rolling out changes to our systems without thinking it through. Luckily we don't do this to customer systems only our own for some reason. Anyway took half a day to restore my system and the other half to get all the network and printers restored and catch up on my mail.

Got my latest update of the TomTom software via UPS. Will install it tomorrow and see if it's worth the money. The version I had, bought six months ago, was missing the M6 Toll Road which has been in for about two years.

Went round to see Caitlin again. Sleeping again. Don't understand what all the fuss is about she is as good as gold. She's staying out tonight for the first time. Won't make any difference to her but it will to the others.

Don't know what's going on in the world because have not had time to look at the news.

Police response to Menezes execution.

Looking around some other blogs and the news sites today. Seems like we can expect more mistakes by our protectors. Seems that the terrorists themselves killed the Brazilian, who was called Jean Charles de Menezes. Don't know how they managed that it was obviously some sort of mind control. Plus we can expect more innocents to be killed by the police. Well, don't know about you but I don't feel protected by them now. So now they are activly gunning for civilians I don't feel that they are performing their role of protectors very well. It brings back memories of school when we heard about people contacting the authorities and getting innocent people arrested both in Salem, Germany, old Russia and now the UK. Welcome to Nazi UK.

It also seems the terrorists are now officially winning after all. We hear they are against our way of life and want to change it. Here I was only thinking they wanted us to stop sticking our nose in their affairs. Now they are getting their way, our freedoms are disappearing fast we can be executed for offences such as running.

And round it all up. The plain clothed officer who shot Mr Menezes is going away on a holiday paid for by us. Only a week mind. Maybe if he had got more innocents or it had been less public he could have got longer.

Update on the Brazilian shot dead in London.

Well looks like the terrorist was an innocent guy from Brazil. Seems for some reason running from guys with guns is now a capital offence. I'm been reading that five shots in the head is the standard we can expect now for terrorists. Nobody seems to have thought this through. Seems like innocent people are now targets for the bad guys and, what are supposed to be, the good guys.

From what I can understand they followed him from a suspected terrorist hideout then waited until he was at a tube station before shouting at him to stop. I don't know about you but three big guys chasing you the day after a terrorist incident would make me run as well. It wasn't as if they were in uniform. Then they catch him hold him down an execute him. Sounds like we have been taking lessons from the KGB. If he had a bomb then letting him into a crowded station doesn't seem to me like a good idea but what do I know.

Back to work to spread the good news on the baby.

Back to work today. Of course didn't do much bar telling everyone about the new arrival. Had to chase up a fix to the systems but the guys at the coalface had everything under control so all I did was make a few calls and delegate some tasks. Went and seen Caitlin and she was sleeping like a baby which is kind of ironic.

Leaving hospital with the new baby.

Another day sorting out things for the arrival of Caitlin to her home. Her temperature had stabilized in the night and it was all OK for her to come home. So went and picked her up. They are all staying at the ex-wife's for a few weeks to let everyone settle in and let Lisa get a rest. Should be hectic there for the next few weeks and quiet at mine.

Collecting birth mementoes.

Spent day collecting memorabilia for Caitlin's box which now contains some newspapers and some notes. Then went and had a really good look at my granddaughter. Little darling is sleeping soundly. Seems her temperature is fluctuating and she can't come home until it stabilizes. Mum, seems strange to call my daughter that, and daughter are doing fine otherwise. Took loads of photos and synchronized everyone else's phones with my PDA. Blew lot to CD as I don't want to lose anything.

Birth Announcement for my Granddaughter. Plus, an ominous sign.

My granddaughter born today at 21:23. 5lb 6oz. Caitlin Zoe. She is really small. Sending texts to everyone who I find in my phonebook and EMails to everyone on my EMail system to let them know I'm a Grandad. Caitlin and my daughter, Lisa, are both doing well.

Another thing that happened today was;
Suspected terrorist executed in London streets.

I'll probably be back on that as that's part of what this blog is about. Want to try an make the world a better place for her and I failed miserably on making it a better place for my own kids.
