What is good for the Goose....

On the one hand we have women being able to legally kill their husbands if they are under fear of being attacked. Read here. On the other hand it seems that violence in women is now being recognised. Read here.

Now I wonder if the women on the picture in the first article will be as happy now knowing that as well as them being given a free pass to kill someone because they feel threatened that the very same thing could happen to them. I have heard a rumour that Attorney General Baroness Scotland's hubby is fearful for his life. I'll be a character witness that he killed her in self defence under the new laws.

Typical though, these laws were not in place when I was getting divorced beaten up by my ex-wife and fearful of losing my house life.

It's about time that the U.K caught up with the rest of the civilized world on this issue.
Men have been abusing women for centuries, often placing women in a kill/or be killed situation that should not be punishable to the same extent as cold blooded killers.

By the way, an abused man due to increased size and muscle size is in a much strongerposition of defending himself, especially against a woman attacker than women are when being assaulted by men.

Anon, Not all men are bigger or stronger than their spouses, girlfriends etc. Spousal abuse works both ways and many men suffer from it but are scared to come forward because people will laugh. I know I'm one of those who laughed at a guy who was beaten up by a 5 foot nothing skinny woman in a pub. He hesitated and realised much too late she wasn't a cute little harmless girl after all.

Personally I think that anyone who stays with someone that beats them up needs their heads examined. Male or Female.

Wow. this is getting a bit out of control for this backwater of the blogosphere.

Henry, We should refrain from making personal statements to someone who is commenting. I'm trying to minimise swearing on my blog as well. We don't always agree with what others are saying and Anon's opinion is as valid as anyone elses. Many women agree with her and the facts show that more women are killed and beaten up by men than the other way around.

Anon, I welcome your comments as long as they are made in a calm and rational manner.

I'm going to delete the comments with the attacks in. I'll close the comments off here as well.

This article was supposed to be about unintended consequences not about spousal abuse or intersexual? violence.

Uber, I'm not going to argue the case about spousal abuse. I agree more women are beaten up and killed by men.

However, I don't agree that a law needs to be made to cover it. That was the point of the post. Existing laws already cover it and anything that specifically targets a group based on gender, sexual orientation, race etc. is immoral.
