Poor Israelis
It seems that the US is now pushing for a Palestinian state as well and they will have a hell of a lot more influence than the UN and EU that is for certain. Read here.I wonder if the US is seeing this as a way to appease it's detractors while actually not having to do anything themselves. Make them look good on the world stage.
IMO the Palestinians don't deserve a state the way they have been going. All they want is the destruction of Israel and the world seems to be helping them.
Makes no sense to me whatsoever. Appeasement has never helped in these situations but our whingey whiney do gooders insist on it all the time. To ensure we understand what I'm talking about I mean the UN, the EU and the other loonies that we seem to have running our countries.

I don't oppose the idea of a two-state solution..
That said, I think it's funny that Condoleeza Rice, with a year left in office, thinks she's going to solve the Israeli-Palestinian problem.

They all have the same inflated opion of their own abilities.
That is why they end up as politicians. Only there can they indulge their fantasies at someone elses expense.
I would support a 2-state solution, based on the borders AS THEY ARE NOW :)
Otherwise we could give the Holy Land to Israal and Jordan to the Paleo's
And this is one of the problems in a nutshell.
Israel is not ours to give. The world seems to think it is.
All we do is weaken the Israeli position by forcing them into a compromise which is yet another step along the way to annihilation and prolongs the conflict. Our people seem to see these people as freedom fighters against an oppressive society.
They are not.
