Reading about this Thai woman who has been crowned world light flyweight boxing champion. Read here.Good for her although she looks just like a young guy. Then I read the story and it seems she was taught her skills in prison. WTF! Why are they teaching people fighting in prison don't they have any courses in sewing or brain surgery or something. Not everyone is going to come out as a world champion and perhaps make a living that way. More are going to come out being better at knocking seven shades out of you. Oh! and we, as in the Thai public, are paying for these criminals to be taught to beat us all up.
Is it just me that wonders what the hell is going on here?

Reminds me of the Russians and kettlebells- the tough prison units over there train with KBs to develop their strength to handle prison riots and the like. They also provide the prisoners with KBs to train with too.
Definitely something wrong with training criminals martial arts.
I know it is supposed to instill discipline but it seems to me to train them to be more effective thugs is not a good idea no matter what the intention.
Does nobody even think of the consequences?
