UKIP are you listening?

I've said before that the general public see the UKIP as a single policy party.

Today I was out while a neighbour was moving some stuff to the dump. I said that I thought the trailer they had acquired was too big for the new rules and they said that her father had that problem a couple of months ago so they were aware and had acquired a permit.

That got the four of them started on our council. After a boring discussion, we were all saying and agreeing the same things, the conclusion was that there was no party to vote for besides the BNP as they all had the same policies and there was no real differences between them. All four wanted to vote BNP but they don't even stand in our area.

I enquired what they thought of the UKIP. The answer was that they were only interested in getting out of the EU. They wanted someone who would do something on the NHS, Immigration, Defence, Crime and sort out our taxes and economy. They didn't know that the UKIP had any policies on any of these issues. Not one person had heard of any UKIP policy beyond getting out of the EU.

UKIP. Are you listening to this? Not everyone reads blogs and most of the UK seem to be unaware of your other policies. You need to fix it soon if you want to make a difference.

We have had different policies for years including the topics you refer to (visit our website at www.ukip.org to see a few). We can't be blamed if the media do not give us the airtime or print space they give to other parties, despite the many releases we do put out. Of course our USP is withdrawing from the EU but ask yourself this: Why do the media not publicly ask what else are we about? I can tell you because it would not conform to the media view of how small parties should `behave'. After all, do you think we are responsible for the term `Eurosceptic'? That is a short step away from being anti-Europe, anti-foreigner, xenophobic, racist etc. You can see what sensational stories could be plucked from these tags. No, we're EUsceptic, we're against the political body that runs MOST, not ALL of Europe. This has nothing to do with our feelings with the French, Germans, Italians etc. And why do you think we're getting the run of publicity now? Because of how we're upsetting the Conservatives. Welcome to MediaPolitik.

I know that you have policies on many different matters, mainly through DK though, the message does not seem to be coming out from yourselves. The MSM may be stopping it as you imply but that is clearly a problem you need to resolve if you want to make real headway and now is the time.

The fact that you are upsetting the conservatives is good but the media attention needs to be built on. Some people I have spoken to seem to think that these defectors will return once Cameron changes a few things as UKIP have no real policies.

It's a PR job and I have no PR answers but surely the UKIP can find someone. If you can't do that then what hope have you of running the country?

If you want a BNP candidate in your area you can always contact your local BNP and stand yourself.

Not for me I'm afraid. I think there are some policies in there that are spot on but as an overall package at this moment in time the BNP is not for me except to make it a rocky road for our other useless parties. Althought it would be an interesting time if the actually got in. They couldn't do worse than this lot and would certainly cause changes.

I don't agree with everything the BNP stand for, infact I only agree with about 60% of their manifesto but I am standing as a candidate.

It doesn't matter if you don't agree with everything you can change that when the BNP become the government because they are in favour of initiatives.
