Plain English. Isn't.
Read this article on text from the Plain English Campaign of examples of statements that make no sense.I love this sort of thing. I'm surprised there are not more from the Government who love to write this sort of thing as part of their job. And, sadly, I found there were a couple I understood. What is happening to me?
I remember when I spent a large part of my work writing reports. The finished report was always rejected because it didn't read right. I fixed it by running through and changing the plain English for gobbledegook and making the structure more confusing. Worked every time. The customer? The MoD.
