The inarticulate rants of a paranoid who has looked around after the birth of his granddaughter and does not like what he sees.
I'm a divorced guy with two grown up kids. One has a child of her own so I'm a granddad. Makes me sound old which is right. We live in the NW of England and I'm a manager in a computer consultancy and tend to get involved in fixing things. I enjoy my job which seems to be unusual in this day and age even with the Dilbert type things that drive me loopy.
You might not like what you read here but it is the way I see it.
As you have probably worked out I have an opinion on everything. I'm happy to discuss any subject with anyone and it's not unknown for me to change my views with a new viewpoint or a few well thought out arguments.

Snuffle, I agree.
However what this was about is that these guys are normally wrapped in cotton wool, protected so they don't see the real world and thus don't see any need to change what they are doing.
Imagine that every morning you got up and pressed a button that was labelled 'Make someone smile' This button sent electrickery shocks through some prisoners precious parts and the guards smiled. You keep on pressing the button thinking you are doing the right thing though you may here comments what is going on you just see the guards smiling and nothing else and you are assured that it is making people happy.
Now imagine how many times that button would be pressed if it was connected up to you.
These guys never feel the consequences of their policies. If they did they would come out with different ones.
So maybe a bit mean but it's for a good cause.
