Islamic Terrorists. Even the experts don't understand them.

For a while now I've struggled to understand the thought processes behind these terrorists. Quite often you can come up with a profile of why. The social injustice, the persecution, etc. but after all that I was stumped by Mohammed Siddique Khan. He had a wife and kids and was brought up in the UK. He was not living a millionaire lifestyle but neither was he is squalor like many are abroad. It made me consider that I really didn't understand them and without that understanding it was going to be difficult to deal with them.

It seems that even our terrorist experts are having difficulty with the concept. Read more here. It bodes poorly that we went out and opened this particular can of worms when we were simply relying on our superior technology to force them into submission. With no thoughts on how it would really be. Many sites had comments by non government sources stating their beliefs in what would happen. Most were correct. Now we are still talking about attacking Iran. Of course we won't invade. That was one lesson learnt but they do not consider that it will bring out many Iranian Mohammed Siddique Khan's on to the aggressors. In addition it must still seem to the Muslim world that we are going to do them all one at a time. Political pressure to conform to the US ideology will be replaced by force if they don't comply. Not all of them are stupid and must be planting the seeds already.

Of course the expertts don't understand them when they all appear to be strenuously avoiding the core of Islamic terrorism- the teachings of the Koran and hadith. Perhaps they haven't quite grasped that there is a very simple reason why it's called Islamic terrorism?

It's been obvious for years that poverty is not behind terrorism (just look at bin Laden himself)- but one thing has remained constant; the jihad ideology at the heart of it. And every time the terrorists release statements they tell us this in plain terms- but no matter what they say, or how many times they say it, the West seems to continue to ignore the words coming out of their own mouths.

They even went so far as to name one of their groups "Islamic Jihad" and yet Western experts continue to ignore both the teachings of Islam and the calls for jihad within the Koran. Instead we get Blair telling us that Islam is a progressive religion of peace.

Good point. While we are all being so PC and scared to actually talk rationally about the situation we will never come up with a good strategy. Most of our strategic thinking will in reality be knee jerk reactions to the media and a few big mouthed celebrities.

The problem is that if anyone raises the religious foundation of Islamic terrorism, asides from the terrorists themselves of course, they are instantly accused of being Islamophobic and racist. Politicians must be terrified of having that label slapped onto them.

(Odd that we never hear of those who attack Christianity as being racist.)

I often wonder if politicians like Blair and Bush are actually switched on about this subject and are merely trying to avoid speaking publically about the problem or if they really are that clueless about the jihad being waged at the moment?
